This is a cool Serenity webcomic site I just recently stumbled on to. I particularly like the new comic, “Yarn” told from Jayne’s mom’s perspective after the Serenity movie time period. Check it out…
I’ve seen this site before (in fact, it’s on News of the ‘Verse’s Intro. Materials that I compiled) but I’ve never seen this comic before. It is good!!!

Nice idea for her character, too. I’ve heard other musings about what Jayne’s family life might have been like, but this is the most plausible.
I agree that she is one tough character–ready to wack Jayne upside the head if she thinks he needs it but also willing to die for him.
