Campaign to Run Firefly During Writers’ Strike November 8, 2007

Here’s a campaign to get Firefly back on TV.  The idea is to post our suggestions on NBC’s website to run the original Firefly episodes on NBC (or I would also say, maybe the SciFi Channel, one of NBC’s corporate cousins) during the writers’ strike.  While I’m hesitating a bit, wondering if this it’s ethical to take advantage of the strike like this, it seems like on balance this is a good thing.  It should have an insignificant effect on the outcome of the strike while it will help promote the Resurrection of a great show.  So, sign-up everyone!

I’m thinking they knew the strike was coming and so they probably already have shows lined up. Its probably too late to sign a show at this point.

Have you been to Max’s site

She has a great explanation of the strike and how the studios wanted the strike (see the comments for info from her and toni).

But I still hope it works;>

It’s a “shot in the dark”, but it’s a good thing if only to keep some momentum and enthusiasm in the fanbase.

Firefly originally ran on FOX not NBC…soooooooooooooo

(not likely though not impossible)

Yeah…true it ran on FOX, but NBC/Universal owns the rights to Serenity, so it’s not completely outside the realm of possibility. But I agree with your general assesment…very unlikely.
